O’Neal looking forward to retiring at Boston

Shaquille O’Neal has signed with the Boston Celtics in a two year contract for $3 million. He has four NBA titles underneath his belt and wants to add more. However, Shaq has no plans to be a 40-year-old plus professional athlete as the confirmation has been made to the Orlando Sentinel that he would retire at Boston.

The Celtics are the sixth franchise Shaq (#36 Celtics Jerseys) has competed for during his 18-year NBA career. After wearing six NBA basketball jerseys, Shaq begins to look for a place to end up his career. But O’Neal still want to get the fifth rings for himself and do whatever it takes.

“I’m not coming in to take over,” O’Neal said after an Orlando charity basketball game. “At this point in my career I’m just a role player and I’ll do whatever it takes [to win].”



O’Neal, who is currently the oldest active player, averaged 11 ppg and 4.0 rpg last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and is expected to come off the bench for the first time in his future Hall of Fame career. Playing on the Celtics will let him play along side with Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen on his quest for one more Championship
